This group exchange illustrates a dynamic process where a subjective report of internal struggle and subsequent relief is interpreted through a lens that integrates cognitive concepts with polyvagal neurobiology. The experience of a "concrete" feeling in the face and intense "trying" exemplifies identification with a state of stress and defense. The emergence of "Awareness"—an impartial observer within—leads to a spontaneous "melting" of this tension and a shift towards empathy. We frame this shift as moving from a dominant dorsal vagal state (immobilization, fear) to a ventral vagal state (safety, connection, empathy) by ceasing to identify with the former. The core reasoning is that our innate human capacity for impartial observation allows us to dis-identify from habitual and often primitive neural responses. This dis-identification is key: it withdraws metabolic energy from the older neural circuits and allows more evolved, self-regulatory neural systems to come online, leading to a transformation in one's internal state and experience. We suggest this is a fundamental, repeatable process of "inner work" where sustained, impartial self-observation ultimately allows our intelligence to prevail.
Here is what we will Learn & Experience Together:

Join us and re-discover your innate capacity for feeling safe, attuned to self and others.

If you have experienced challenges in your upbringing in any form, this workshop is for you.
Every Thursday:

* Somatic Science® and its approach to well-being.
* Happiness as the absence of suffering - Neurocognitive basis.
* Role of the nervous system in shaping experiences.
* Understanding the Maladaptive Threat Response Cycle (mTRC).
* Understanding the
* Autonomic Nervous System (ANS) dynamics and barriers to homeostasis.
* Introduction to self-regulation and interoception.
Experiments:
* Group dynamic: Identifying patterns of regulation & dysregulation in daily life.
* Exploring present-moment awareness.

* Childhood conditioning, mTRC, and existential trauma.
* The role of curiosity in nervous system regulation and healing.
* Practical tools: Learn the skills required to enter the Articulation Phase to transform the 3 mTRC components.
Experiments:
* Mapping the ANS and its states (parasympathetic vs. sympathetic)
* Group dynamic: Personal patterns and conditioning.
* The 3 Steps to Aliveness, Safety, Curiosity.

Sunday, 18 May 2025:
Applications of Somatic Science®
Session 1: Transforming Fixations and Building Resilience

* Understanding fixations: Chronic patterns of tension and thought.
* Self-relational metacognition to transform fixations.
* Leveraging safety, rest, and recovery for healing.
Experiments:
* Guided dynamic: Dialoguing with fixations.
* Partner dynamic: Entering metacognitive awareness.

Session 2: Integration and Moving Forward
* Cultivating curiosity as a pathway to well-being.
* Transitioning from fear-driven states to heart-mind awareness.
* Applying Somatic Science® principles in daily life.
Experiments:
* Reflexive writing with Facial Interoception: Insights and takeaways.
* Closing meditation: Anchoring well-being in the present moment.
Our innate desire for harmony with life can only be nurtured in safety. When our nervous system is contained by the experience of safety all of our organs begin to work harmoniously and begin to flow in the same way that terrestrial natural systems flow. This allows for the experience of the end of feeling separate from oneself and others. We exist, we allow others to exist, and we become open to Being known to Exist by our primordial Intelligence.
