The Essence of Meditation: Experiencing our full Humanity
A 2-Day Online workshop - Class size limited to 18 participants | Register for 1 or 2 days!

Retreats | Workshops | Classes  | May 27 & 28, 2023

Live Online 09:00 - 14:30H PST

Meditation (to take appropriate measures that arise from careful pondering) requires we meet certain biological requirements. Contrary to common attitudes towards meditation, it is counterproductive to use it as a means to remove, get rid of, control or manage any of our undesirable experiences. At its core, meditation requires curiosity - and this is a neurobiological state that we can learn to support within ourselves as part of a greater regulation of our nervous system. Only then can we receive all of the benefits of meditation: Fruitful with Insight; Relaxing our Body; Healing our Humanity - our relationship with our and other selves. We explore these topics while playing in an open way - with smiling curiosity!

All are welcome

Dear Federico,

...These meetings have been very valuable for me and have had lasting effects. In comparison to the sessions you had last year...I am liking your current sessions more.

I enjoyed last year ‘s meditation and quietude. However, it felt good in the moment, but it didn’t seem to spill over into my daily life. I was counting on the actual meeting to have an hours’ piece of mind.

Fast forward to the past few months: in these new sessions, you gave explanations, diagrams, exercises, etc. This has helped me apply the work on a daily basis. Something clicked a few weeks into your current course offering where my anxiety level has gone way down and has remained down ever since.

  • Re-learn to experience natural self-regulation (happiness) in ordinary life and in meditation.

  • Learn to cultivate metacognition (self-awareness) of the perceptual dimensions of human experience.

  • Understand basic physiology of the nervous system and how it affects self-regulation: a requirement for meditation.

  • Understand the role of the threat response cycle (TRC) in daily life and how to navigate its manifestation during meditation.

  • Understand and experience the difference between implicit and explicit perceptual objects via self-relational touch.

  • Discover and understand human experience as a self-relational adventure that is mediated by our facial expression and corresponding nervous system states.

Within the neurocognitive model of Somatic Science™,
dysregulation is an experience that is generated by the Autonomic Nervous System (ANS) when in a state called the threat response cycle. Due to the intensity of the experience and its origin in evolutionary biology, human beings tend to fully identify with this experience. During the meditation process we learn to safely access, discharge and lovingly acknowledge this pure energy that has ensured our survival for decades. Somatic Science™ is a discipline born of insight. It is a neurogulatory model based on dialectical self-relation and self-regulation.
